Friday evening at 7:30 pm at the Hillsboro-Deering Middle School (not the High School, but they’re off of the same driveway), join us for our one night only, return engagement of our hilarious, critically-acclaimed production of The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! Four actors take a basic plot and present it as five mini-shows in the styles of five different Broadway composers. Phantom of the Opera, Company, and Oklahoma! are just a few of the shows ripped apart in this hilarious spoof. Join us and see Jennifer Sue Mallard, Heidi Welch, Joey T., and Mike Gallagan prove they are triple-threats and comedians to boot! This show is recommended for high school students and adults due to some suggestive humor.

Tickets are at the door only, and are FREE. There are plenty of seats for all attendees. There is also a gourmet dessert option for only $5. Don’t miss it! Grab some friends and catch it this Friday.

Happy Valentine’s Day, theatregoers! NYMMT has a variety of projects at the moment. Yesterday, some of us led an interactive murder mystery at Bentley Commons (with the help of their very talented staff) and were treated to some delicious food and dessert while we worked there. The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! is being remounted, for one, FREE night only, at Hillsboro-Deering High School in Hillsboro, New Hampshire. The information will be listed under Coming Attractions any day now, but in the meantime you can save the date of this hilarious show (worth the trip since it’s free) by marking your calendars for Friday, March 25th, at 7:30 PM.

In addition, NYMMT is working to secure more funding to remount [title of show] in the near future. If you, or anyone that you know, might be interested in helping us produce this show, or in sponsoring it, please email us at notyourmoms@gmail.com. Meanwhile, we’re also at work planning what the rest of our season might look like.

And most importantly-Marc Murai, winner of the [title of video blog] raffle at [title of show], has chosen a very worthy subject for our next video blog. The National Endowment for the Arts, which provides arts grants (almost half of which are delivered by the states themselves) to communities in every state, is facing massive cuts if we do not contact our representatives now. Please watch our video to learn more, and then use the simple website listed at the end of the video to fill out a tiny form and contact your representatives. (The link is only evident if you watch it on youtube, so we’ll list the link here as well below the video.) If you can spare a couple of minutes, please do. Theaters and schools across the country will thank you.

Spread some love this Valentine’s Day! And thanks for supporting us.

Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater is thrilled to announce it will be presenting the NH Premiere of [title of show] in January of 2010! The hilarious and talented cast of The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! returns to the stage with NYMMT, this time at the Lyceum (120 seat) space of the Derryfield School, to perform this hilarious, moving, and self-aware musical about two people writing a musical about two people writing a musical. This show is for 18+ audiences due to very frank and explicit language. Come spend a fun (and inspiring!) evening as the cast tells the true story of two nobodies in New York who write a show in three weeks and take it to the New York Musical Theater Festival, Off-Broadway, and eventually Broadway, all with only four chairs and a keyboard.

3 Performances only! January 22nd at 7 pm and 9 pm at the Derryfield Schools’ Lyceum space (not the big auditorium), as well as January 28th at 8 pm. Tickets will be available on this website within the next month, and sponsors, advertisers, and producers are still sought for this production. Mark your calendars and come join us! Email notyourmoms@gmail.com to get on board or with any questions.

Here’s our first video blog! We’ll be posting weekly or so once rehearsals begin.

A last thought for the day-auditions are tomorrow (Friday the 22nd) for our Christmas Spectacular. Hope to see you there!

Hi friends, just wanted to update you on NYMMT. We’ve added a few links to our partners on the NYMMT Friends page. In addition, we’ve added a “press and quotes” page, where you will find what both the media and our audiences have to say about our productions. Here you can find the link to our recent review, as well as some audience feedback and other articles written about us. Look for news in the next few weeks about our upcoming productions! Thank you to everyone who has taken our poll too 🙂

The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! played to appreciative audiences and hysterical laughter during its run this past weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out to check out the first production by Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater! Particularly one of a kind were the intermission performances by the cast (and chosen by the audience.) Lots of fun was had by all (perhaps the best was Jennifer Mallard singing “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” to everyone in the entire theater!) and new friends and contacts were made as well. We’ll post our reviews and feedback soon. If you enjoyed the cast, they’ll be back for Title of Show in a few months, and the blogs will be coming soon. Thank you again for your support! I’m happy to report that not only is Musical of Musicals proceeding according to plan, but both The Telegraph and the Hippopress have interviewed us and are planning on running an article each on September 16th. In addition, the Hippo ran a short article on the forming of our theater company this past Thursday in the “Curtain Call” section on page 29. Thanks to everyone who has responded to our poll so far-it looks like Andrew Lloyd Webber is winning!
