Happy Valentine’s Day, theatregoers! NYMMT has a variety of projects at the moment. Yesterday, some of us led an interactive murder mystery at Bentley Commons (with the help of their very talented staff) and were treated to some delicious food and dessert while we worked there. The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! is being remounted, for one, FREE night only, at Hillsboro-Deering High School in Hillsboro, New Hampshire. The information will be listed under Coming Attractions any day now, but in the meantime you can save the date of this hilarious show (worth the trip since it’s free) by marking your calendars for Friday, March 25th, at 7:30 PM.

In addition, NYMMT is working to secure more funding to remount [title of show] in the near future. If you, or anyone that you know, might be interested in helping us produce this show, or in sponsoring it, please email us at notyourmoms@gmail.com. Meanwhile, we’re also at work planning what the rest of our season might look like.

And most importantly-Marc Murai, winner of the [title of video blog] raffle at [title of show], has chosen a very worthy subject for our next video blog. The National Endowment for the Arts, which provides arts grants (almost half of which are delivered by the states themselves) to communities in every state, is facing massive cuts if we do not contact our representatives now. Please watch our video to learn more, and then use the simple website listed at the end of the video to fill out a tiny form and contact your representatives. (The link is only evident if you watch it on youtube, so we’ll list the link here as well below the video.) If you can spare a couple of minutes, please do. Theaters and schools across the country will thank you.

Spread some love this Valentine’s Day! And thanks for supporting us.

  1. Marc Murai says:

Wow you guys, that was awesome… thank you so much. I also have to give credit to the performing arts alliance who made me aware of the proposed NEA budget cuts and whose text I borrowed heavily from… it’s critical times like these that every artist and arts patron Must stand-up and be heard by our policy makers. Thanks again for the great art that NotYourMomsMusicalTheater produces!
