NYMMT is delighted to announce our fall mainstage musical! We’ll be bringing LaChiusa’s critically-acclaimed, sexy, edgy and provocative musical See What I Wanna See, which is based on three short stories by Japanese author Akutagawa including Rashomon. Visit here to see how to get involved, and mark your calendar for October 26-November 2.
AND a reminder –
May 6 is Part Two in our concert series! Hope to see you there!

Friday evening at 7:30 pm at the Hillsboro-Deering Middle School (not the High School, but they’re off of the same driveway), join us for our one night only, return engagement of our hilarious, critically-acclaimed production of The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! Four actors take a basic plot and present it as five mini-shows in the styles of five different Broadway composers. Phantom of the Opera, Company, and Oklahoma! are just a few of the shows ripped apart in this hilarious spoof. Join us and see Jennifer Sue Mallard, Heidi Welch, Joey T., and Mike Gallagan prove they are triple-threats and comedians to boot! This show is recommended for high school students and adults due to some suggestive humor.

Tickets are at the door only, and are FREE. There are plenty of seats for all attendees. There is also a gourmet dessert option for only $5. Don’t miss it! Grab some friends and catch it this Friday.

Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater is busy multi-tasking this week. We’ve got folks building signs and making costumes, creating new posters and sending press releases, and of course, rehearsing non-stop for [title of show]! Ticket sales are picking up (Saturday January 22nd at 7 PM is the most popular so far) so we suggest you choose a date and buy your tickets, as the show is next weekend and the following weekend only! Although this show is at the Derryfield School, it is NOT in the big auditorium-it’s in the Lyceum, which is a lecture hall in the Upper School building, and it only seats 70 chairs and 6 standing room only customers. So please reserve your tickets now (they’ll be held at Will Call for you at the door) to save yourself the chance of us selling out and you missing out on this show.

Thank you as always for supporting our quirky, affordable musical theater model. We couldn’t do it without you!

The Musical of Musicals: The Musical! played to appreciative audiences and hysterical laughter during its run this past weekend. Thanks to everyone who came out to check out the first production by Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater! Particularly one of a kind were the intermission performances by the cast (and chosen by the audience.) Lots of fun was had by all (perhaps the best was Jennifer Mallard singing “I Don’t Know How to Love Him” to everyone in the entire theater!) and new friends and contacts were made as well. We’ll post our reviews and feedback soon. If you enjoyed the cast, they’ll be back for Title of Show in a few months, and the blogs will be coming soon. Thank you again for your support!
