Not Your Mom’s Musical Theater is thrilled to present the NH premiere of the sexy, edgy and provocative musical See What I Wanna See. With music and lyrics by Michael John LaChuisa ( The Wild Party, Marie Christine, Bernarda Alba, etc.), it is based on three short stories, including the inspiration for the movie Rashomon, written by Japanese author Ryunosuke Akutagawa. The show explores themes of truth, such as how one person’s truth isn’t the same as another’s, and how a fiction can become a truth, or a truth become a fiction. Off-Broadway in 2005, the show calls for 3 men and 2 women with doubling, although the cast may be expanded. Its off-Broadway production featured Mark Kudisch, Idina Menzel, Mary Testa, Aaron Lohr and Henry Stram.
The show will be performed at Milly’s Tavern (in the back room) in Manchester, NH. Show dates are October 26-28 and Nov. 2. All roles are available, and expanding the cast (i.e. no doubling) may be considered.
